St John Vianney’s is a two-stream co-educational Catholic primary school with a current enrolment of 394 students. The school is located in Doonside and draws on students from Doonside, Woodcroft, Edgewood, Bunya and surrounding areas. The school serves the parish of St John Vianney.

St John Vianney’s accepts enrolments applications at any time during the year (pending vacancies). School Enrolment Applications ​with accompanying enrolment instructions are available at the office. Completed forms must be accompanied by the following documentation.

  • Birth certificate
  • Passport-size photo of student
  • Proof of residential address (e.g. council rates notice, current driver's license)
  • Latest school report from previous school
  • NAPLAN results (if applicable)
  • Passport and visa (for parents and student if student is not Australian)
  • Citizenship/residency/visa (country of birth other than Australia)
  • Family court orders/parenting agreements/AVO/DVO relevant to the student
  • Immunisation certificates
  • Sacrament certificates (Baptism/Reconciliation/Eucharist/Confirmation as applicable)
  • Special needs and assessment reports for speech, hearing, cognitive, occupational therapy or others.
  • Medical Action Plan e.g. Asthma, Anaphylaxis (if applicable)
  • Medical Plan e.g. Mental Health plan, Medication plan (if applicable)
  • Privacy Consent Form (form included with application)
  • Medical Consent Form (form included with application)
  • Raffle Ticket Consent Form (form included with application)
  • Photo Consent Form (form included with application)
  • National Data Collection Consent Form (form included with application)

Further documentation to support application may be sought at the time of interview.

An enrolment interview is conducted shortly after the lodgement of the School Enrolment Application and parents are required to bring their child(ren) to that interview.

Kindergarten enrolments

Students enrolling for Kindergarten must turn five years of age on or before 31st July in their first year of school. Kindergarten parents are required to attend an information evening in the October prior to commencement and Kindergarten enrolments attend on orientation visit during Term 4 to assist with a smooth transition into primary school.

Years 1 – 6 enrolments

Students who have enrolled for Years 1 – 6 for the new school year are invited to attend a ‘changeover afternoon’ in December to meet their new teacher and classmates for the following year.
