Learning at St John Vianney's

St John Vianney's is a place where curiosity, imagination and love of learning thrive through working together to provide the most effective, engaging and challenging learning experiences for students.

As one of the 80 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta, we’re working together to transform learning for students in Greater Western Sydney. This means reimagining and refreshing learning and teaching for today’s world and today’s learners.

The purpose and promise of a Catholic education is to inspire each learner - student, teacher and family - to discover a meaningful and flourishing life.

Our school is full of great teachers working together to meet our students' needs in well-designed spaces that maximise up-to-date learning. There are places for students to work together and independently, with the latest state-of-the-art technology to maximise learning.

Our faith journey

St John Vianney's is a great place for students to grow in faith and learning. We value each student as an individual and share the values of the Gospel to help them discover the hope that is within and to experience a meaningful and flourishing life.

Prayer is integral to our school life. The whole school community begins and ends every day with prayer and we pray the Angelus daily at 12 noon. Students have many opportunities to pray the rosary, participate in confession and other liturgical celebrations.

Beyond the classroom

We believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. Our school gives them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.

From learning an instrument to competing in teams sport, students explore a variety of interests to help them grow into well-rounded individuals.

Extracurricular activities we offer

Sport

Sport is a valued part of a school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport. Representative pathways are also available through Parramatta Diocesan Primary Schools Sports Council.
